2021 Here We Come!
2020 has been tough, we all know this, but for Dresses Ever After it was a blessing in disguise. Dresses Ever After was started about one year ago in January 2020. I was just a girl with a dream and I jumped right in putting my pants on both legs at a time. I was heading full speed ahead for the Prom 2020 season and it was going great. Well, on the outside it probably looked great, but my view from the inside was messy and stressful. Mostly, I was worried that I wouldn’t have enough dresses and people would get the wrong idea or they wouldn’t come at all. In 2020 I had two open houses, about twenty to thirty dresses, and had even gotten a few rentals before all of the proms in my area were canceled. Yes, a disaster, but also a blessing.
In my previous blog posts, I have explained some of the things that I have been doing this year to improve for 2021. In summary, I have been expanding my inventory and improving the business overall. The little time I was able to be ‘open’ and actually renting dresses in the first part of the year set as like a trial run. It let me work out some of the larger kinks before getting in too deep. I am thankful for this time because even though my rentals were canceled, I was able to improve and even got in a few rentals in summer for local pageants and the fall for homecoming.
Right now I am already getting ready for Prom 2021 and I am very excited to share all of the beautiful dresses and flower sets that I have! Currently, Dresses Ever After has over one hundred full-length prom dresses that are new. These dresses range from sizes 00 to 18 and I will be getting in more dresses that are in the 14 to 24 sizes. I expect these new dresses to come in around February if everything goes to plan, but I will be updating my social media when they do come in. My goal is to have about one hundred and thirty dresses ready to be rented out for prom this year. There will also be more Open Houses leading up to proms and I will be purchasing extra cleaning and disinfecting equipment to be cleaning and sanitizing each of the dresses after each event.
Prom is going to be my main rental time because that is the time of the year there is a high demand for formal gowns as the ones that we offered here, but I will also be putting more focus on pageants and homecoming gowns in the summer and fall. There are plenty of great local and state pageants that thousands of girls compete in and I am hoping to help them out by saving them lots of money, time, and the hassle of buying and selling their own gowns. In 2020 I did rent out dresses for a local pageant and homecoming. I hope to keep expanding this portion of my year and I am already working on a few things to help get Dresses Ever After where I want it to be for 2021.
