Elle Smith was named our new Miss USA 2021 on Monday, November 29th. The competition was held in Tulsa, Oklahoma and there were 51 amazing women competing for the title. Each state including the District of Columbia was represented by their state titleholder and these strong women had one week to wow the judges and win over their hearts as they went for the chance at winning the title of Miss USA. Before competing for the title of Miss USA, Elle was a journalist and news reporter in Kentucky which is where she was able to excel in communication.
Elle Smith won the Miss Kentucky USA pageant in May 2021 and this was her first time competing in a pageant. Elle believes in representation and says that the Miss USA competition has become more inclusive when it comes to age and race, but she wants to see more body inclusivity and for the brand to become more body positive and welcome amazing women of all shapes and sizes. This is something that we at Dresses Ever After absolutely agree with and we are excited to see the changes she will make to the organization and nation.
Currently, Elle Smith, Miss USA 2021, is in Eilat, Israel competing in the Miss Universe competition. This is the 70th year for the Miss Universe organization and Elle is very excited to be there. There are 80 amazing, powerful, brave, strong, and intelligent beautiful women who are competing in this year's competition. Our current Miss Universe is Andrea Meza who represented Mexico in the 2020 Miss Universe competition. Andrea has done an amazing job as Miss Universe in many ways and she continues to advocate for gender-based violence and HIV awareness. She wants to be remembered through her Miss Universe legacy about encouraging others to go for their dreams and to show up and be consistent with working towards their goals.
Who will the next Miss Universe be? Can Elle Smith bring home the triple crown by winning the next title of Miss Universe? Tune in to Fox on December 12th to find out!
